Dark Seed Classic Amiga game

1992 classic Amiga game - adventure games

Dark Seed, a point and click adventure game with a twist. Or two. The beginning was typical - you buy a slightly creepy house and it turns out it is has a portal to another dimension. But instead of hunting down the agent that stitched you with this piece of questionable property, you try to figure out what happened to the previous owner, because same things beginning to happen to you. Nightmares about your skull being impregnated with some alien egg, splitting headaches, hearing voices, you know, the usual.

Dark Seed was a typical point and click adventure of the era, but at the same time it really wasn’t. On one hand you had puzzles that were, to put it mildly, incomprehensible for normal people, but on the other hand you had the whole alternative world made out of dreams of H. R. Giger (creator of alien, from the movie Alien, you know, THE alien).

The graphic side was definitely a strong point of the game, but since it was point and click adventure, it was not for everyone’s taste.

Dark Seed trivia

The budget
Rumour has it that most of the USD 600,000 of the Dark Seed budget went into the pockets of H. R. Giger, for the rights to use his works in the game.
