1988 classic Amiga game - strategy games
Bismarck was one of the mightiest warships in the beginning of World War II, no wonder Royal Navy sent all available forces to stop the German battleship before it can reach the Atlantic Ocean and start attacking Allied convoys. Having such colossus loose on the huge ocean would be a catastrophe for British and a lot of problems, so they had to act fast and intercept Bismarck and heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen while they will be crossing the Greenland - Iceland - United Kingdom line. In the game we can control the German forces (and in that scenario our aim is to reach the Atlantic and on the way sink as many convoys we can) or British forces that were trying to stop Bismarck (in that scenario we must not to let the battleship reach the bottom of the map). The basic steering is simple - you choose the unit and set next waypoint for them. The things change while we actually find the enemy - the view is switched to control of the main guns, during which we can also control torpedo fire and fire control on the battleships. The aircraft carrier has another special feature - we can send the Swordfish torpedo bombers and then steer them while they try to attack the battleship. While the graphic side is not very impressive (taking the age of the game under consideration it is hardly surprising), but the gameplay was made with a lot of skill. You not only control the operation on strategic level, but have to deal with the guns and airplanes yourself. It would seem that you always play the same scenario, but random elements and changing weather can change the whole game each time.
