1994 classic Amiga game - shoot em up
There was a wonderful time when the most cutting-edge form of entertainment was the arcade cabinet. These machines were dominated by titles like *Jetstrike* (right after mindless fighting games and the immortal *Defender*, of course). Naturally, a side-on perspective is hardly a sin—especially when the game concept is solid. In this case, the concept blends a shooter with elements of simulation (albeit very minor ones). So, instead of piloting a generic "plane-like" craft, you fly a real aircraft; instead of blasting aliens, you engage other planes; and instead of lasers, you use a cannon. It goes on like that: you attack ground or naval targets for points, deliver important documents for points, and pick up a secret agent—only to end up with a hernia. The lineup includes dozens of aircraft and several helicopters; beyond combat missions, you can also compete in a unique "Olympics" event where flight precision is the name of the game. The graphics may not be particularly sophisticated, but the gameplay leaves no doubt: this is a title worth checking out.
