Fighter Bomber Classic Amiga game

1990 classic Amiga game -

Back in the day, this game was incredibly popular, though that’s hard to believe when looking at its visuals.

As the title suggests, the game focuses on fighter-bombers. Specifically, you can choose from the F-111 Aardvark, F-15 Eagle, F-4 Phantom, AJ-37 Viggen, MiG-27 Flogger, and two variants of the Tornado (German and British). There are quite a few missions to complete—mostly involving ground-attack objectives, though not exclusively. The range of weaponry you can equip on your aircraft is extensive, spanning everything from bombs and air-to-ground missiles (both guided and unguided) to air-to-air missiles. Yes, the latter often come in handy, even if the scenarios don’t always strictly call for them.

Suffice it to say, pilots flying the F-14, F-16, F-5 Tiger, MiG-29, MiG-31, Su-27, or Mirage 2000 will be eyeing your tailpipe hungrily (you can even choose which aircraft you want to face as opponents).

The game doesn’t look particularly impressive, and the sound—as is typical for most simulations—takes a back seat. Overall, it’s a fairly average title (featuring flat landscapes and few ground objects), but it certainly isn’t bad.
