1994 classic Amiga game -
An economic and trade game set in the 15th century. We direct expansion on behalf of one of the maritime powers of the period: Portugal, Spain, England, the Netherlands, or France. First, we must find an island on which to establish our colony. We must ensure that our settlement doesn’t starve, so by bringing troops or goods from the "old country," we can attack or trade with the natives (they are particularly fond of beads, slightly less so of cannon barrels). To develop both the colony and our own finances, we need plantations whose products we can sell in Europe. We will then have to attack the developments of our rivals from other empires on other islands to prevent them from gaining power. The setting (and especially the images in the home ports) deserve praise (at least in the AGA version). The only drawback is the limited variety of maps we operate on (I suspect there’s only one).
