1989 classic Amiga game - strategy games
Classic grand strategy that simulates the World War 2 in board-game-like style: the whole Europe and North Africa is divided into regions and we command the whole armies, not the lower level units. The basic mode is to lead Germany against Russia and Allies, but up to 3 players can play, each controlling one of the sides of the conflict. They basic scenario begins in fall of 1939 as we attack the enemies (we do not have to attack Poland, we can start on different directions first), but the army movements is only part of the game - we also have to take care of the garrisons in different parts of the country, we have to distribute industries to keep them away from the enemy, we have to take care of the aerial operations (offensive and defensive, including distribution of AA guns to strategic locations), we have to deal with the problems of the navy (from assigning U-Boats to areas to sending capital ships on patrols or use landing crafts to attack enemy territory on the other side of the water).
While the graphic side of the game is hardly impressive, not even mention the sounds (that are in fact completely absent) the game is a masterpiece - challenging, but giving us a lot of freedom to choose our approach to the war. We take care of the research and development of the weapons, we set the production for next year of the war, we have to take under consideration the plans of the enemy and fight on different fronts at the same time. A true gem of classic strategy games, especially for people interested in World War 2.
