Post-apocalyptic survival for dummiesAmiga games
1994 classic Amiga game - football management games
One of many soccer manager games that simulated only English league and was based on typical scenario - take over team from lower division and help it reach the championship. While the graphics side was done with decent effort, the game had stadium management options and staff management options the main part of the game could hardly be called inspired. The match engine presented the short description of all the details of the events on the pitch and goal attempts were shown as simple animations, which was good, but at the same time there were no individual statistics of the players, so we knew that our team had 6 shots on the goal, but if none of them ended up in scoring we would not know which of our players was taking part in those events. Same story with the match summary - the players do not get individual ratings, so during half time and at the end of the match we see only bars showing the performance and remaining fitness. To make things even harder the summary does not show the names of the players, only their shirt numbers, which again are not the individual numbers, but number assigned for this particular match based on the order on the list. So in one game shirt number 6 could be assigned to defender, in other to midfielder, but will you remember to which one? Overall a well-meaning project that looked not bad, but lacked depth and the basic informations we would need to make decisions. Additional managerial options were nice touch, but the main part of the game was not enough for Club Football - The Manager to make much impact.
