1992 classic Amiga game - flight simulators

AV-8B Harrier Assault is a game that is difficult to classify. First of all, it is a aircraft simulator of vertical takeoff and landing Harrier (AV-8B is his American sign), although the player actually takes the role of the commander of several ships full of US Marines, who are making the intervention in Timor (island in South-East Asia). Also player has to coordinate (or even plan) actions of all the forces - in air, sea and land.

So we are dealing either with the strategic-simulator or simulation-strategy. As I mentioned objective of the game is to take control over Timor, where Indonesian forces invaded the independent half of the island. There we have mentioned Harriers, transport helicopters, assault helicopters, landing crafts, and of course ground forces that can take gained grounds The fights are taking place in the strategic points (villages, cities, airports, military barracks) and we as fly a Harrier pilot and perform assault missions over land or just seat over the map with a cup of coffee in hand and plan the moves. We can even combine the two activities, though flying with cup of coffee in hand can be painful.

The game may not be brilliant (especially the sound), but for fans of these programs will certainly be a valuable addition to their collections.
